About this policy
Mark is a personal notes and knowledge app developed by mayplay. This policy explains how the Mark app and this website handle information. For privacy questions, contact 2807438705@qq.com。
Local data
Notes, avatars, attachments, and other personal entries are stored in an on-device library by default. Local features do not require a Mark account. The app has no ads, cross-app tracking, or third-party behavioral analytics SDKs. The developer does not receive your note content through a Mark application server.
Optional iCloud sync
Only after you enable sync does Mark use Apple CloudKit to upload data to the current Apple Account’s private database and exchange it with devices using that account with sync enabled. Sync is subject to Apple’s terms, privacy policy, account status, and available storage.
Turning sync off stops future syncing but does not automatically delete copies already in iCloud or on other devices. Local content remains available. Export a backup before changing accounts or deleting cloud data.
Photos, files, and external services
Photos and files you choose are used for avatars, inserted images, imports, or restoration. Imported images are re-encoded without the original photo’s EXIF location information.
When you import Markdown containing remote images, Mark requests them from the source website, which may receive your IP address and requested URL. External links are opened by the system and are subject to the destination website’s privacy policy.
When you choose to import from Notion or Feishu, your device sends credentials and page requests to the relevant service and downloads content you have authorized. Connection credentials stay in the local Keychain and are excluded from Mark content backups and iCloud content sync. Imported content is stored locally and participates in sync if enabled.
System information and settings
Mark stores interface preferences and library selection locally, reads its own files’ modification times, calculates storage sizes, and uses system timing to group consecutive edits for undo. This information is not used for advertising or tracking and is not sent to the developer by Mark.
Export, retention, and deletion
You can edit and delete entries and manage content in Trash. After deletion, copies may remain in historical versions, other devices, iCloud, and backups you made. Turning off sync or uninstalling the app does not erase all copies.
Full backups and Markdown exports may contain private content. Mark does not automatically password-protect exported files. Keep them secure and delete copies you no longer need.
